Dragons in the Shahnameh are not lizards on a hoard. They are a stretch of country that has gone wrong, and they are usually met at night, by somebody who is tired and alone and has been told there is nothing out here.

The one the game draws is black, and its trick is the oldest and worst one: it is there, and then when you look properly it is not, and the only witness to it is the person everybody is about to stop believing.
