Aulad, which you will also see written Owlad or Oulad, is a local lord in Mazandaran, and the fifth stage of Rostam's road. He is the only one of the seven who is not a beast, a demon or a piece of weather. He is a man with land and men of his own, met on his own ground.

He loses and is taken alive, and then something more interesting than a fight happens: he becomes the guide. He knows the country. They ask him what is where, and he tells them. The deal he strikes for his own future is his own idea, and he holds Rostam to it.

Which makes his stage the point where the road stops being empty country and starts having people in it who want things.
